Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh (III)
This is the final part of our adventures in Edinburgh; we've really been fortunate with the weather this trip which is lucky really as we did a lot of walking today!
I absolutely have this thing for glasshouses, think big ideas of building our own when we have the space one day, so visiting the 27 at Edinburgh was very definitely on the list...
Having somehow whittled down the 500 photos I took in the gardens, I hope you enjoy the consequent plant spam, spot the cat photo and the occasional mad professor vibe from Sam...
After meandering through the greenhouses we were ready for some coffee and some rather tasty elevenses; what better way to finish our visit off than with a homemade treacle scone...?
Feeling refreshed, we were ready for the next part of our day trip. Taking the scenic route along the Water of Leith Walkway we soon arrived at our final and rather quaint bucket list stop, Dean Village.
Although there really is nothing here but this charming little scene, it was a lovely place to walk to; it was especially magical as we managed to time our arrival just right with the most beautiful golden light, perfect for watching the world go by...
Time to head back just in time for one last sunset at the castle hill top before a well earned pint with my sister and her boyfriend who'd coincidentally booked their first trip to Edinburgh with a convenient little overlay with ours! Until the next time, Edinburgh...
