London Weekend...

Unbeknownst to our mother, I hopped on a coach on Friday night to make the six hour journey down to London for the weekend; it was an instant throwback to travelling home from university for the holidays. In some ways, the coach station hadn't changed at all, just as confusing as when I was a student and I still got lost meeting my sister haha...

Early Saturday morning we made the journey to pick up mom; the penny still didn't drop at the
" s u r p r i s e e e ! " and mom's confusion at my sister's apparent pointing out the ticket machine next to which I was standing haha. Mission surprise mom for her birthday weekend apparently complete!

L o n d o n,  overlooking Greenwhich.

Doesn't mom look darling with her lovely hat? We were treated to the biggest smiles all weekend.

Once over in Greenwhich, we were promptly distracted by a pair of parakeets snacking on the cherry blossoms; not your everyday sight! We wandered around the Old Royal Naval College before heading up the hill towards the observatory for a very exciting  booking...

The Sky Tonight showing at the Planetarium. This was a highlight for me, having always wanted to go to one I couldn't say yes fast enough when my sister suggested booking a show. It was hugely inspiring, funny and informative. We all came out excitedly bubbling to each other.

After a relaxing night of face masks, films and cake, we were a little late leaving the flat this morning for today's explorations. After a morning wandering around the Columbia Road Flower Market, I've discovered several new beautiful plants to add to our collection one day (the image of carrying an armful of plants on the train up t'North was enough of  deterrence for this time haha)

Pausing, only at this spectacular street art design, we were then on a mission to The Bargehouse for their famous breakfast in bread menu....

We all went for the original option, which is essentially a full English breakfast served in an artisan baked loaf and it is every bit as tasty as it looks...

One day, I'm hoping we can return and try some of the other options which sound delicious; this one especially had a new ingredient with every mouthful.

Fully fed, we decided to walk to Brick Lane and Shoreditch area to explore before wandering home via all the pretty streets.
